Overview
Sigiriya, the 'Lion Rock', is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka's most iconic landmarks. This 5th-century rock fortress rises 200 metres above the surrounding jungle, crowned by the ruins of King Kashyapa's palace. The ascent reveals stunning frescoes of celestial maidens, the famous Mirror Wall, and the colossal Lion's Paw entrance that gives the site its name.
